Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor…
Ecclesiastes 4:9
Team Expansion (https://teamexpansion.org/) and CrossWays (https://www.pepperdine.edu/spiritual-life/church-relations/cross, ways/), mission works that The Flow supports, have partnered to develop short term mission trips for CrossWays’ mission students. As it turns out, Team Expansion began praying and planning to begin high school disciple-making and disciple training mission trips last summer. At the same time, Crossways’ leadership was dealing with the reality of how to help their mission minded students find mission trips that were both safe and meaningful.
CrossWays was developed to find and select deeply committed high school students who are ready to explore the possibility of mission work. Team Expansion has years of experience training and helping mission workers experience the most from mission work. And now God has them working together!
During the summer of 2022, the eight selected CrossWays mission students can choose to join small mission teams that will be going to Turkey, Jordan, or New York City. Each of these trips will begin with students receiving mission training and preparation for three days at Team Expansion’s headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. Following this training, students will join a team that will be led by an experienced Team Expansion mission worker. During their week on the mission field, students will have daily language sessions, as well as time with on-site mission workers. As the students spend time with mission workers, they will witness and learn how to engage in spiritual disciple-making conversations in order to build relationships with people who do not yet know Jesus.
Special thanks to Team Expansion, Jeff Walling and Rachel Higgins from CrossWays at Pepperdine University for their work in making these mission experiences possible for CrossWays’ students in 2022.
And special thanks to you for your donations to The Flow Foundation that is providing financial support to each of these eight CrossWays mission students.
And on a personal level, thanks to so many of you for your expressions of kindness and grace this past month as I, and my family, experienced the loss of my Dad, Garth Black. Your kindness and encouragement have been a great comfort.
God’s grace and guidance to each of you,
Bruce
